The most attractive part of the Marathon Alpe, namely the descent from Jezerski vrh and  the climb to Pavličevo sedlo, runs in Austrian territory. So far, the organising body of the Marathon Alpe has worked hand in hand with the municipality of Železna Kapla and The Slovene Sport Association in Austria/Carinthia very successfully and has, therefore, decided to do so even more intensively in the future. The first result of the co-operation is the trophy for the fastest female and male cyclists to reach  Pavličevo sedlo awarded by Železna Kapla Municipality and SŠZ respectively. Timing will cover the whole climb from foot to the top (1339 m) of the most challenging part of the whole marathon.

An extremely picturesque Alpine road with the average incline of 10% starts to climb immediately after the descent from Jezerski vrh at the altitude of 824 m. At distance of only 5 km cyclists have to cover the altitude of 515 m. On top of Pavličevo sedlo participants will be welcomed by kind members of Železna Kapla fire brigade who will offer refreshments.

The award winning ceremony for both winners will take place after the final event in Kamnik.
